As a special operations army commander, Jeff Tiegs anchored his life in the battlefield—and the Bible. He joined the 1st Ranger Battalion at age eighteen and retired as a Delta Force lieutenant colonel. Often separated from his wife and kids, Tiegs lost friends in combat but never stopped pursuing his enemies wherever they tried to hide.
What has kept him going, what guides him still, are stories — of David, the slingshot sniper who downed a giant, of a pregnant virgin bride, a rogue prophet, a betrayed liberator. To Tiegs, these ancient tales echo within every human story. He has followed them through holy lands and combat zones where he collected a few stories of his own.
In Where Have All the Heroes Gone?, Tiegs retells familiar Bible stories through the lens of a trained warrior. He weaves personal experiences and military exploits among the threads, inviting readers to take their own pilgrimage through the front lines of faith.

These ancient stories seen through a combat soldier’s eyes will help you realize that you have a unique role to play in this world. This book will give you a fresh perspective on life, love, leadership, betrayal, suffering, and loss.

An all knew series is coming.
It's tentatively named Words Create Worlds. It looks like it will to be a four-part series that traces how words do more than awaken life; they summon it, steady it, direct it, and ultimately fulfill it.
Eden and Creation will be book one.
The story begins at the first words spoken by God, where attention, trust, honor, and rest form the original architecture of the human soul. It asks what the world, and Adam, was meant to be before shame learned to speak louder than love.
Throughout the series, the reader comes face to face with a question that refuses to remain abstract:
Which Word is living inside of you?
This is faith, tested on the battlefield, with dirt on its boots.
A map for the wandering soul.
And an invitation to listen, love, and live with intention.

I speak to leaders, executives, and teams who carry real weight, responsibility, pressure, and consequence.
Drawing from years in special operations, nonprofit leadership, counter-sex trafficking work, and my writing on how faith gets put to the test, I challenge audiences to recover clarity, courage, and moral grounding in a noisy world.
My talks are direct, story-driven, and shaped by hard-earned experience, not theory. They are designed to sharpen decision-making, strengthen character, and remind people that leadership is not about performance, but presence.
Audiences don’t just leave inspired; they leave oriented, steadied, and ready to lead with intention.

How to lead when there is no playbook, no certainty, and everyone is watching if you blink first.
How to do the right thing when it’s unpopular, uncomfortable, or expensive.
Trust. Loyalty. Ownership. Creating teams that run toward the fight instead of away from it.
The trauma people don’t talk about, and how to march forward anyway.
Keynotes include applied leadership exercises and decision-making scenarios designed to translate insight into immediate action.
